The unhostile takeover

Let’s look at the mystery of Mary’s Assumption in possibly a different way. St. Paul says that “it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”

If this was true of Paul, it quite possibly could have been true of Mary to such a degree that, since Christ was risen and ascended, so too Mary, being so fully joined to Jesus, like a branch to the vine, that she factually was one with him at the very hour of her death, in a most literal way. She was drawn immediately into the union to which we are all destined at the end of time, should we become saints.
