An illumating definition of evil

The best thing about re-reading a good book is that you see things you missed the first time. Right there on page 92 of Authenticity by Thomas Dubay is a citation that contains an almost poetic definition of evil, of all things:

“Evil is essentially the refusal of God’s attraction and love. This refusal makes it more difficult to perceive just what it is we are refusing.”
