If you are not thoroughly aware of your sinfulness and do not identify yourself as a sinner, you place yourself in a condition of moral hazard.
The reason? When somebody sins against you, you will unknowingly behave in such a way as to make reconciliation all but impossible.
To understand what a person who sins against you needs, you need to both see yourself as a sinner and have experienced receiving proper treatment at the hands of those you have offended. Otherwise, your lack of a sense of your own sinfulness will make you blind to the best course of action. Consequently, you will take a resolvable situation and through your own lack of awareness of your sinfulness you will throw away any hope of true and lasting reconciliation.
